4-10-2025 Monthly Project Update
The Board of Directors for Lake McQueeney Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (LMWCID 1, or “the District”) would like to provide residents an update on the work performed so far at the dam for the Lake McQueeney Spillgate Replacement and Dam Armoring Project.
Schedule Status:
Substantial completion date has slipped to early November 2025
- Bay 3 cofferdam leaks and transformer supply chain issues caused the substantial completion date change
Current Work Status:
- Bay 2 cofferdam excavation - completed
- Bay 2 structure demolition – completed
- Bay 2 concrete seal slab - completed
- Bay 3 concrete seal slab – completed
- Bay 3 concrete foundation 1st lift – completed
- Bay 3 concrete foundation 2nd lift – started
- Bay 3 fill existing spillway slab voids - completed
- Bay 3 structure demolition – completed
- Maintenance bridge bent caps – 2 remaining
- Maintenance bridge steel spans assembly – started
- Stop log foundation - started
- South Embankment electrical – ongoing
- North Embankment dam armoring - ongoing
Upcoming work:
- Bay 2 concrete foundation 1st lift
- Bay 2 concrete foundation 2nd lift
- Bay 3 concrete foundation 2nd lift
- Bay 3 concrete foundation 3rd lift
- Maintenance bridge bent caps 5 & 6
- Stop log foundation
- North downstream embankment armoring earthwork and concrete placements
