8-13-2024 Monthly Project Update
The Board of Directors for Lake McQueeney Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (LMWCID 1, or “the District”) would like to provide residents an update on the work performed so far at the dam for the Lake McQueeney Spillgate Replacement and Dam Armoring Project.
Schedule Status:
Substantial completion date is currently late September 2025
Current Work Status:
- Bay 1 – proposed spillway slab to elev. 510.50. Epoxy dowels, rebar, hinge anchors, stoplog block-outs, and formwork completed
- Bay 1 – proposed spillway to slab Eleva. 510.50 concrete placements started
- Bay 2 – Under slab pier widening and slab pour back completed
- North downstream retaining wall stabilization (soil anchors) completed
- South embankment dam embankment armoring resumed, and control building demolition started
Upcoming work:
- Bay 1 – Placing concrete to elevation 510.5
- Bay 1 – Install dowels, rebar, and formwork for slab to elevation 514.33
- 1st pier fish ladder demolition
- Continue dam armoring earthwork and concrete placements on North and South embankments
- Grout injection for wall and sheet pile stabilization
Steel-Fab, Inc (steel gate manufacturer)
- Steel Fab gate manufacturing is on schedule
- Hydraulic cylinder factory acceptance testing (FAT) – finalizing revised submittal
- Site visit and inspection
