The Board of Directors for Lake McQueeney Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (LMWCID 1, or “the District”) would like to provide residents an update on the work performed so far at the dam for the Lake McQueeney Spillgate Replacement and Dam Armoring Project.
Schedule Status
- Substantial completion date is currently mid-September, 2025
Current Work Status
- Bay 1 cofferdam excavation has been completed
- Bay 1 concrete seal slab has been completed
- Bay 1 foundation steel reinforcement installation has begun
- Bay 1 gate demolition is underway
- North embankment dam armoring is ongoing
- South embankment armoring is ongoing
Upcoming work
- Install Bay 1 steel dowels and rebar
- Pour 1st & 2nd concrete lifts
- Complete Bay 1 gate demolition
- Demolition of Bay 1 existing concrete structure
- Install Bay 1 steel dowels, rebar, and formwork for under slab foundation
- Continue with dam armoring earthwork and concrete placement
Steel-Fab, Inc
- Steel Fab gate manufacturing is on schedule
- HPU – factory acceptance testing is scheduled for end of April
