The Board of Directors for Lake McQueeney Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (LMWCID 1, or “the District”) would like to provide residents an update on the work performed so far at the dam for the Lake McQueeney Spillgate Replacement and Dam Armoring Project.
Schedule Status:
- Substantial completion date is currently mid-September 2025
Current Work Status
- Installation of waler at elevation 512.41 has been completed
- Excavation within the coffer dam area to elevation 502 has been completed
- Lowering waler to elevation 505.33 has started
- Bay 1 gate removal preparation has started
- North embankment dam armoring is ongoing
- South embankment armoring is ongoing
Upcoming work
- Installation of waler and supporting brackets at elevation 505.33
- Bay 1 excavation to firm material
- Place 3-foot-thick unreinforced concrete slab within the coffer dam
- Scan and layout of existing dam rebar
- Drilling and epoxy of dowels, installation of rebar for first foundation lift
- Continuation of dam armoring earthwork and concrete placement
Steel-Fab, Inc
- Steel Fab gate manufacturing is on schedule
- HPU – factory acceptance testing is scheduled for end of April, sooner than previously reported
