The Board of Directors for Lake McQueeney Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (LMWCID 1 or the District) would like to provide residents an update on the work performed so far at the dam for the Lake McQueeney Spillgate Replacement and Dam Armoring Project.
Schedule Status
- Substantial completion is still on track for late August 2025
Current Work Status
Electrical demolition within the control building is nearing completion
- Transformer removal is pending
Removal of the Bay 1 concrete obstruction, which blocked the coffer dam sheet piling installation, has been completed
Bay 1 coffer dam sheet piling installation is ongoing
Filling of the south, downstream retaining wall void has commenced
Upcoming work
Bay 1 cofferdam sheet piling installation completion
Dewatering of Bay 1 cofferdam and excavation between the dam and Bay 1 cofferdam
