6-14-2024 Monthly Project Update
The Board of Directors for Lake McQueeney Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (LMWCID 1, or “the District”) would like to provide residents an update on the work performed so far at the dam for the Lake McQueeney Spillgate Replacement and Dam Armoring Project.
Schedule Status:
Substantial completion date is late-September 2025
Work Started and/or completed:
- Bay 1 – 2nd reinforced concrete lift, completed
- Bay 2 – Structural demolition started at Pier 1
- Bay 1 – Under slab pier/abutment widenings complete
- North embankment dam armoring is ongoing. Started driving North embankment steel sheet piles
Upcoming work:
- Bay 1 – Install dowels, rebar, place & cure concrete Bay 1 under slab pier/abutment widenings and slab pour back completed
- Bay 1 – Install dowels, rebar, hinge anchors, stop log block outs and formwork for slab to elevation 510.50
- Bay 2 – Install dowels, rebar, and place concrete at under slab pier widenings and slab pour back
- Complete existing structural demolition
- Continue dam armoring earthwork, and concrete placements
Steel-Fab, Inc (steel gate manufacturer)
- Steel Fab gate manufacturing is on schedule
- HPU (hydraulic power unit) delivery scheduled for June 20th and 21st
- Hydraulic cylinder factory acceptance testing (FAT) is scheduled for mid-late July. The first cylinders are being shipped for painting next week.
